In honor of my grandfather ("Commander") who loved lemonade mixed with orange juice and grapefruit juice, this is a toast to the wonderful 95 year life he lived.
1/2 oz Lemon Mint Element Shrub
1 oz gin
1/2 oz fresh blood orange juice
1/3 oz maple syrup
1 1/2 oz sparkling wine / champagne
2 dashes grapefruit bitters
Combine Lm shrub, gin, blood orange juice and maple syrup in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Double strain into a chilled champagne flute. Top with sparkling wine / champagne and grapefruit bitters. Garnish with orange peel.
