Why buy from Foodlyn instead of purchasing directly from the foodmaker or artisan?

On Foodlyn, we say that you “Purchase with a Purpose®.” What that means is that we donate 25% of our profits to community-based nonprofit groups fighting the hunger problem in our country.

Foodlyn was launched as a direct attempt to engage with hunger nationwide in what we think is the best possible way: we support foodmakers who bring food back to its roots and choose their ingredients carefully, and connect their efforts with initiatives that are working to bring food to the people who need it most.

We’ll keep working toward earning your business by continually searching the country for the best tastes and finest products to create the best online farmer’s market. And on your end, the more you purchase from Foodlyn, the more you support both independent foodmakers and people who struggle with access to food.

We appreciate your support as we work together with these foodmakers and artisans from across the country to bring their quality products home! And we thank you for sharing Foodlyn with your friends and neighbors. We’re grateful that you share our values and want to help us be a great(er) success.


Which local community hunger organizations do you support?

During 2016, Foodlyn supported two community-based organizations: Bed-Stuy Campaign Against Hunter (@BSCAH) in Brooklyn, NY and the Richmond District Neighborhood Center (@RDNC_SF) in San Francisco, CA.

And we go beyond just donating 25% of our profits from the sale of great small-batch foods: we also support fundraising efforts of these organizations through the donation of goods, silent auction, raffle prizes, and giveaways at events throughout the year.
